INTRODUCTION The learning that is anticipated in this course is to train teachers to design online assessments. The course aims to train grade 10 accounting teachers to design online assessments. For teachers to design their own assessments they should know what to include in their online assessments. Teachers should know why they should assess their learners. The teacher should have a good knowledge of the concept before writing assessment questions. The course will assist teachers to assess the learner’s knowledge, skills, attitudes in measurable terms. Teachers will be made aware of how the concept of learning-centred teaching engages effective use of formative and summative assessment. The duration of the course will be 5 weeks 2 hours per week. Informal assessment will take place at the end of each unit to gauge the teachers learning progress. Immediate feedback and support will be given on a continuous basis for each module.
COURSE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES v Explain and demonstrate the benefits of online-assessments in accounting v Use various online assessment tools in order to assess learners. v Obtain the skills to train fellow teachers as well as learners emerging learning technologies and pedagogy. .
